- Yes
- All our employees receive background checks as well as continued service training to keep up with the changing world of driving.
- No, but you do have to be at least 15 years old. We can drive with students without a Learner’s Permit
- Students who have completed the driver education program with ProDrive Academy will have the written test waived when they go to DPS to get their Learner’s Permit. The student must provide to DPS their certificate of completion.
- However, the student may obtain a permit by presenting their PDA Contract that they receive once they have completed the 10-hour classroom requirement (no driving required at this point) but will be required to take the written test.
- The written test may be taken the day after the 10-hour classroom requirement is completed. (20 Questions/Multiple Choice and make a 75% to pass).
- The day the student turns 15 1/2 is the earliest they can get their permit.
- A student under 18 years of age MUST have their permit a complete 6 months before they are able to take the State Road Test.
- Those over 18 must hold a permit for a month before eligible to take the State Road Test.
- Those who have completed a Driver Education course, obtained their permit at 15 ½, held a permit for 6 months are eligible to take the State Road Test at 16 years old.
- The earliest anyone may obtain their driver’s license in Oklahoma if they have not completed a DPS Certified Driver Education course is 16 years of age.
- After you have completed the classroom sessions, the driving instruction is done one on one with an instructor in 2 hours behind the wheel lessons.
- The number of lessons is determined by the package you bought (6-hour drives is the minimum package). Driving sessions are scheduled at your convenience.
- Yes, just like guitar lessons, you must take lessons and practice on your own. If you do not practice, you will not learn the skills necessary to master the tasks. We recommend you practice as much as possible on your own time (with a permit). After getting a permit, the parent signs an affidavit with the State of Oklahoma that they will drive with their teenager 50 hours (40 daytime and 10 nighttime).
- Drive times are always available online through the Student Login on the ProDrive Academy’s website; or you may call our office (405) 367-7375 and schedule your drives.
- The finish time depends upon when your driving times and class times are completed. The class times are scheduled, but students set up their own drive times. This varies with times of the week, the weather, your time schedule, school schedule, and other factors. We cannot determine when you will be finished but we will work with you to help you make this happen as soon as you request.
- However, ProDrive Academy policy states: “If for any reason you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, we require that you call ProDrive Academy a minimum of 48 hours in advance. If 48 hours’ notice is not given, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $50 or no-show fee of $200 whichever is appropriate. In case of emergencies, documentation will be required.”
- The training we offer for those that are 18 and older is obviously different from what we are required to provide for our younger students. The State of Oklahoma does NOT require Learner Permit licensed applicants who are 18 and older attend classroom training or take any specified number of behind-the-wheel lessons. Therefore, we tailor your training to meet your individual needs.
- However, anyone regardless of age who wants to take a driver’s license test at ProDrive Academy MUST have a valid OK Learner’s Permit.
- You might not get a call from our office; however, we will post on the ProDrive Academy Facebook page letting everyone know if there have been any cancellations. Additionally, check your email and the local OKC TV stations.
- Anyone who wants to improve their driving skills.
- Anyone who needs point reduction from their driving record. This class will remove 2 points from participant’s driving record and will enable student to receive an insurance discount.
- Anyone who is ordered by the court to take a defensive driving course. ProDrive Academy’s Defensive Driving Program is accepted by most municipal courts in the State of Oklahoma.
- Anyone who wants to lower their insurance cost. All licensed companies in the State of Oklahoma give an insurance discount good for 36 months.
- Companies who want to reduce their risk factor with drivers. The Defensive Driving Program is a benefit to your employees having a tremendous impact on drivers’ attitudes. - Yes. We would prefer your new driver have 6 months of practice after they receive their driver license (near the end of their GDL period) before enrolling in this program. We consider this program “Driver Education – Part 2”. They will learn many additional things not taught in the Driver Education Program that will help them become more confident on the road.
- This would also be a great time for you as the parent to enroll, as well, to show your concern for safety with all of the constant changes on today’s roadways!
- Our most popular package is the ProDrive Academy Model featuring:
- Unlimited classroom hours (10 hour minimum)
- 8 hours of behind the wheel instruction
