The Rules Depend on Your Age
If you are under 18, you must have completed driver education and held your Oklahoma learner permit for at least 180 days. If you are 18 or older, you must have held your permit for at least 30 days, or show proof that you passed the written test.
These rules are set by Service Oklahoma and can change, so confirm them before you go.
Rules for Drivers Under 18
- Complete driver education at ProDrive Academy, another state-certified driving school, a public or private school, or a state-approved parent-taught course
- Hold an Oklahoma learner permit for at least 180 days
- Complete the free online Oklahoma Work Zone Safety course before the test
- Have a parent or legal guardian go with you to get the license, or sign a notarized affidavit
Rules for Drivers 18 and Over
- Hold a learner permit for at least 30 days
- If you have no permit, bring proof that you passed the written test
- No driver education course is required
- You can go to the Tag Agency on your own once you pass
The Work Zone Safety Course
The Oklahoma Work Zone Safety course is free and online at workzonesafe.com. Drivers under 18 must finish it before the road test.
Where You Can Take the Test
ProDrive Academy is on Service Oklahoma's list of approved driving schools and is approved to give the road test. We test 7 days a week at our Warr Acres office, in our car or yours.
When you pass, you take your result to a Tag Agency. There is no separate driving test at Service Oklahoma.
