Driving Lessons for Moore Students

We teach students from Moore High School, Westmoore and Southmoore, and adults from across Moore and south Oklahoma City.

Driving in Moore means dealing with I-35 at its busiest, the 19th Street shopping corridor and long stretches of stop-and-go traffic. We use lessons to build the lane-changing and following-distance habits that matter most there.

Roads Moore Drivers Use Every Day

I-35 cuts through the middle of Moore, and most trips in town cross it or run beside it. A new driver here needs to be comfortable with these:

  • I-35: the interstate between Oklahoma City and Norman. Moore has three exits in a row: Exit 116 for South 19th Street, Exit 117 for South 4th Street, and Exit 118 for North 12th Street. With exits this close together, you need to change lanes early.
  • The I-35 service roads: frontage roads that run beside the interstate. Watch for cars coming off the ramps and for drivers pulling out of parking lots.
  • South 4th Street (State Highway 37): a state highway that crosses I-35 at Exit 117 and runs east and west through town.
  • South 19th Street and North 12th Street: cross streets that meet the interstate, where you practice picking the correct turn lane.
  • Broadway, Eastern Avenue, Santa Fe Avenue and Western Avenue: north and south streets. The last three each pass a high school, so expect students, buses and slower traffic before and after school.
  • The I-35 and I-240 interchange north of Moore at Exit 121: a large highway interchange you use to reach the rest of the metro, including our office.

Moore's Place Between Oklahoma City and Norman

Moore is in Cleveland County, with Oklahoma City to the north and Norman to the south. The 2020 census counted 62,793 residents.

Because the city lies on I-35 between two larger cities, local drivers share the interstate with people traveling between them. That is a good reason to get real practice with merging and lane changes before you drive alone.

Tag Agency and office details change. Confirm the address, hours and driver license services on the Service Oklahoma locations page before you go.
