Driving Lessons for Yukon Students

Many of our Yukon students attend Yukon High School and want one-on-one time behind the wheel with flexible evening and weekend scheduling. We also teach adults who have moved to the area and need an Oklahoma license.

For Yukon students we practise on Garth Brooks Boulevard, Route 66 through Main Street, and the I-40 on-ramps, which is where new drivers most often tell us they feel nervous.

Getting to Our Office From Yukon

We do not have an office in Yukon. Our only office is at 5601 NW 72nd Street, Suite 124, in Warr Acres, off Northwest Expressway. From Yukon City Hall on Main Street, the drive is about 10 miles and about 20 minutes in normal traffic.

Head east on Main Street. Main Street is State Highway 66, and east of Yukon it becomes NW 39th Expressway through Bethany. Turn north on Rockwell Avenue, east on NW 63rd Street, then north on MacArthur Boulevard to NW 72nd Street. Northwest Expressway does not run to Yukon, so you only reach it at the end of the trip.

Pickup is free with the Deluxe package and with the Adult and International package when your address is within 10 miles of the office. Yukon sits right at that line. The east side of town is closer. The west side near Frisco Road is about 14 miles out. Call us with your address, and we will tell you if it is in range or if pickup needs to be arranged.

Tag Agencies in Yukon

Passing the road test is not the last step. You bring your approved result to a Tag Agency or a Service Oklahoma office, and the state issues the license there. Yukon has two Tag Agencies that list driver license services, so you do not need to leave town for that step:

  • Yukon Tag Agency, 103 E. Vandament, Yukon, OK 73099
  • Oklahoma Tag of Yukon, 933 S. Cornwell, Yukon, OK 73099

High Schools and Career Training in Yukon

Yukon Public Schools is the main district in the city. Its high school is Yukon High School, at 1777 S. Yukon Parkway. Some parts of Yukon are served by other districts, so check which one covers your street.

Canadian Valley Technology Center has its Cowan Campus at 1701 S Czech Hall Road in Yukon. It teaches career and technical programs to high school students and adults. The technology center also has campuses in El Reno and Chickasha.

For a university campus, Southern Nazarene University is at 6729 NW 39th Expressway in Bethany. That is the same highway as Yukon's Main Street, farther east.

Roads Yukon Drivers Use Every Day

Yukon gives a new driver a mix of town streets and fast highway within a few miles.

  • Main Street (State Highway 66, the old Route 66): the main east and west street through the middle of town. Expect traffic signals, turning cars and lower speeds.
  • Garth Brooks Boulevard: a busy north and south street that meets Interstate 40 at Exit 136. It is good practice for changing lanes and for timing left turns.
  • Interstate 40: the highway along the south side of Yukon. Local exits include Frisco Road (Exit 134), Garth Brooks Boulevard (Exit 136), Cornwell Drive and Czech Hall Road (Exit 137), and Mustang Road and Yukon Parkway (Exit 138A). This is where you learn to merge, hold a lane and exit safely.
  • Kilpatrick Turnpike (Interstate 344): the toll road just east of Yukon. You can enter it from Interstate 40 at Exit 138B, and it also has interchanges at NW 10th Street and State Highway 66. You pay the toll with a PIKEPASS or through PlatePay.
  • Yukon Parkway: it runs past Yukon High School. Watch for school zone signs and slower limits before and after the school day.
  • Cornwell Drive and Czech Hall Road: north and south streets you will use for errands, including a trip to a Tag Agency.

Yukon's Place in the Metro

Yukon is its own city in Canadian County, west of Oklahoma City. It lies just north of Interstate 40, and Route 66 runs through it. The 2020 census counted 23,630 residents. Downtown Oklahoma City is about 16 miles to the east. Our office is to the northeast, in Oklahoma County.

Tag Agency and office details change. Confirm the address, hours and driver license services on the Service Oklahoma locations page before you go.
